alex petchey, lab TECHNICIAN

Alex studied a Bsc degree in Wildlife Conservation with
Zoo Biology at the University of Salford. He transitioned into lab work through developing a genetic based breeding program for the Critically Endangered Lemur Leaf Frog -Agalychnis lemur.

He joined the Sinha Lab at the end of 2017 where he contributes to ongoing projects within both the IPSC-disease modeling and cardiac regeneration branches of the lab. In particular he works with Dr. Hongorzul Davaapil studying Marfan Syndrome and Dr. Laure Gambardella who is investigating the epicardium and its potential in cardiac
regeneration.

Outside of work Alex keeps a small collection of exotic pets including snakes, spiders, praying mantises and fish. He also enjoys yoga and renovating his house.
