Hongorzul davaapil, research associate
Hongorzul obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry at UCL (First-class Honours; Dean’s List). She then proceeded with a PhD at the UCL Institute of Ophthalmology, working on a mouse model of blood-brain barrier leakage. In particular, she focused on proteoglycans and their roles in stabilising the blood-brain barrier. After completing her PhD, she started working in the Sinha lab as a research associate, where she now studies the effect of aortic lineage and mechanical cues in an IPSC-derived model of Marfan disease. Outside the lab, Hongorzul fills up her time with creative activities, such as music and painting.
