maria Colzani, research associate

Maria obtained her bachelor and master degree in biotechnology and Molecular biology at the university of Milano-Bicocca. After her master she moved to Cambridge for her PhD under the supervision of Dr. Cedric Ghevaert working on in vitro platelet generation.

During her PhD she developed an interest in tissue engineering and in particular in its application in regenerative medicine.

Maria now works as a research associate in the Sinha lab where she is working towards the generation of a engineered cardiac patch for the repair of the myocardium after infarction.

In her free time enjoys travelling and cooking (Italian food
of course!).
