Vincent knight-schrijver, research associate

Vincent has a certain fondness for exploring complexity in dynamic biological systems, multivariate analyses and computational problems.

He studied in Leeds for a BSc degree in Pharmacology and moved onto a PhD at the University of Cambridge to explore more translational efforts in drug development and therapeutics. His research applied text mining and dynamic mathematical models of pharmacology to understand disease mechanisms. Now, Vince’s research focuses on using sophisticated bioinformatics and machine learning to grapple the large-scale datasets present in next generation sequencing of human stem cell biology. Currently his aim is to understand the crosstalk between two important stem cell models of cardiac tissues for regenerative medicine, the epicardium and the myocardium.

Outside of science, Vince is a musical percussionist and composer, travelling photographer, experienced part-time chef, and voluntary slave to his cat.
